Brief Introduction of Computer Monitors
Monitor is an external hardware of the computer, which displays pictures. There are various uses for the monitor.
The most commonly used application is to watch the programs displayed. It can also be used as a television when this is connected to a television tuner.
Monitors can be used with televisions and some televisions can be used with computers though both these concepts differ greatly.

Monitors mostly come in two different kinds.
First category called the CRT monitor, the name got from cathode ray tube, is usually big and heavy. This is one of the oldest kinds of monitors built with the traditional technology.
This is very similar to a television in appearance, but is differentiated with a higher display resolution and a higher frequency.
Second category of monitors is called LCD monitor from the liquid crystal displays. This is thin, flat and light weight and most popular these days.
This is built using the latest technology and has a better quality as compared to CRT monitors. Due to the new technology implemented in these monitors, they are usually expensive than CRT monitors.
The selection of computer monitors can be based on different factors out of which your requirement and use of computers have a major role.
Since monitors are highly expensive, customers should be extremely careful while buying a monitor. You should identify the purpose of monitor for you as the monitor for a computer to play games will be different from that used for executing programs.
Higher resolution monitors are of high quality and are most commonly used for gaming computers. You should understand the importance of monitors and should realize what kind of monitor is best for your computer.
