Intel® Turbo Boost Technology is a new feature incorporated in Intel® Core™ Microarchitecture (Nehalem) based processors.
This technology enables higher performance through the availability of increased core frequency under some configurations and workloads.
If the processor cores are operating below power, temperature and current specification limits, this technology allows processor cores to run faster than the base operating frequency.
It can be engaged with any number of cores or logical processors enabled and active which produces increased performance of both multi-threaded and single-threaded workloads.
The Intel® Turbo Boost Technology is available only on supported processor versions including the Intel Core i7.
With this technology, the processor is capable of maximizing core frequency while ensuring that it doesn’t exceed its electrical and thermal specifications.
It is also possible to contain a set-up option in BIOS to enable or disable the Intel® Turbo Boost Technology. For ACPI operating systems, Intel® Turbo Boost Technology is supported.

Creating a good wireless headset for Bluetooth is actually difficult to do. The regular wired headsets are easy to design – with ranging styles.
Bluetooth headsets can never be as small or as light as wired headsets, simply because it needs to include the battery and extra functions. This extra size will impact how the headset mounts on or around your ears.
Comfort
There seems to be two main styles of headsets for Bluetooth. Some are held into place with a loop around the ear. These styles are normally more comfortable, although they may be less secure. The others are held in place by being jammed into your ear – and usually prove to be less comfortable.
Factors to consider
Cost
The cost is an obvious issue, something that you really need to think about. Read the rest of this entry →

Bluetooth is a protocol utilizing wireless communication technology over short distances of data transmission.
It gives a way to provide to connect and exchange information between devices like mobile phones, laptops, personal computers, and digital camera.
The following are some of the list of the Bluetooth applications:
- Wireless communication between personal computers or laptops and input/output devices like mouse, keyboard and printer.
- Wireless communication between a mobile phone and a hands-free headset.
- Transfer of files
- Wireless network connection of computers in a confined space, where there is only little bandwidth.
- Wireless connection for game controllers of Nintendo’s Wii and Sony’s PlayStation 3
Bluetooth in a laptop is very useful especially for people on the go and business purposes.
Benefits of Bluetooth in a laptop:
- The wireless technology of Bluetooth enables easier communication. When traveling with your laptop, you don’t have to worry about bringing connection cables.
- Companies implement Bluetooth wireless technology because it is inexpensive, which results in lower costs in a company’s expenses. These savings will enable companies to upgrade to newer laptops.
- Bluetooth is using low power signals, and will just require little energy or less battery. This is advantageous to mobile devices like laptops because it won’t drain the battery.
- Bluetooth connection is automated. You don’t have to setup a connection or any configurations. This will make it easier for laptop users to transfer files.
- Laptop users can take advantage of personal networks. Connection can be to seven Bluetooth devices within the range of 30 feet. This can be very advantageous for laptop users because in a single room, they can setup multiple networks or can transfer files easily without any hassle.

Bluetooth technology offers three different types of defined ranges, based on output ranges.
- Class 1 devices are the most powerful, as they can have up to 100 mW of power, with a regular antenna giving them a range of around 130 – 330 feet.
- Class 2 devices are lower power, offering up to 2.5 mW of power. A regular antenna will give them a range of around 50 – 100 feet.
- Class 3 devices use even less power, up to 1 mW of power to be exact. With a regular antenna, they will have a range of around 16 – 33 feet.
Even though you may not realize it, Bluetooth wireless technology has never been intended for anything other than short distance types of communication. With Bluetooth wireless, the short range is actually a benefit. Read the rest of this entry →
