How to Send Files to CD or DVD on Windows Vista
You can move or copy your filess on a diskette, on your hard disk, on a USB flash drive or on a CD. Saving your documents on these different devices and different mediums is pretty easy and can be done with very little trouble.
In Windows Vista you can send or copy your files in to a CD without any additional burning software. That’s what I like from windows vista. I can send / move files to CD or DVD from windows explorer.
Things You Will Need
Of course you need windows vista. You need to have a CD or DVD writer or RW installed on your computer. You can’t save documents on a CD unless your computer is capable of writing on a CD.
You also need the CD or DVD that can be written on or saved on for this purpose. The CD you use can be in a writable or rewritable format.
How to send files On A CD or DVD
Sending files to a CD or a DVD is just as simple as sending on a diskette or on a USB flash drive.
Here are the steps:
- Open Your Windows explorer.
- Choose any files or folders that you want to send to a CD.
- Move your mouse cursor to the blocked files or folder.
- There will be a dialog box to choose disc format.
- Go to your windows explorer and click your CD/DVD RW drive.
- Open your windows explorer. Click the ‘CD or DVD RW drive’. Test each file. If there is any error repeat the step 1 to 5.
You can right click on your windows button and click explorer. Or you can press ‘windows’ + ‘e’ button. Don’t forget to insert a blank CD or DVD.

If you want to send several files or folders you must block them.

Then right click and Click ‘send to’. There is an option to send files to DVD RW Drive. Click it.

Choose which one is suitable for you. Don’t forget to write the title for your disc.

You will see the temporary file on your CD/DVD RW. Do not delete the temporary files. You can see the ‘burn to disc’ button on your windows explorer bar. Click it and your files will be burnt into a CD. Wait the process until finish.

Follow those step to send your files or folders to a CD or DVD. You don’t need any additional burning software. OK. Good Luck!

So what are you supposed to do when there is no option of Send To after right clicking? The drive and blank disc(s) are fine.
