Once you have your computer up and running in a way that is useful to you, and that helps you get through the tasks that you need to complete, you are likely somewhat satisfied.
Knowing that updates may change the way that certain programs work, some people are loathe to install them. Does it really matter whether or not you update to the latest version, or can you just continue on with what you know?
The most common updates that people are aware of, are the Windows Operating system updates. They come in at annoying times, and may threaten to reboot your computer at an inconvenient time.

When the discussion comes to securing your computer from viruses and malware, the obvious choice that comes to our mind is surely using any “anti-virus” and keeping it up-to-date.

Many people are using their computers for everything from communication to online banking and investing to shopping. As we do these things on a more regular basis, we open ourselves up to potential hackers, attackers and crackers.
Perhaps some some of them may be looking to phish your personal information and identity for resale, others simply just want to use your computer as a platform from which to attack other unknowing targets.
