So lay out your webcam material so you have a clear picture of what you need to do.

Most webcams will present a USB connection, that disk driver software regarding them, and, of training course, the actual physical camcorder, where the lens, which you’ll need to put in a place where you can see it (and where will it see you! ) With regard to otherwise instructed, insert the disk that came with your webcam before a person plug it in. Windows will recognize you’re trying to install the software, and the wizard should appear to guide you through the process.

If not, just go to “My Computer”, or “Computer” through the Desktop or Start Menu, and click on your CD drive (usually E:) to get it to run the file on disk. Many times, the hardware (including some webcams) will come without the disk for the drivers to install at all. There can be all sorts of reasons for this, but the biggest is, Windows has a talent (usually) large to recognize and install the hardware with no software required. If your web camera does not come with software disc, simply tune in and see what happens. Most often, Windows will recognize it as new hardware, and both can use it, or guide you through the process of looking for the driver (either online or on your computer) to use it.

Once you have your computer up and running in a way that is useful to you, and that helps you get through the tasks that you need to complete, you are likely somewhat satisfied.

Knowing that updates may change the way that certain programs work, some people are loathe to install them. Does it really matter whether or not you update to the latest version, or can you just continue on with what you know?

The most common updates that people are aware of, are the Windows Operating system updates. They come in at annoying times, and may threaten to reboot your computer at an inconvenient time.

Worse, they may automatically reboot it when you aren’t around, but when your computer had been running an important program. You come back to find that the program is no longer running and you are behind on whatever it is you were doing.

The updates also take bandwidth from other programs that may need it. This is less of a problem in the broadband era, but for people who still run on a dial-up connection it remains a problem.

This and the other reasons mentioned, may cause people to turn off auto-updates, and leave their computer in exactly the configuration that it is currently.

These people are taking a huge risk with their security. The updates that are released are not just to improve the appearance and function of your computer, but instead are for security purposes.

Over time, flaws are frequently found with any operating system. These flaws, or faults may allow a hacker to access the operating system in an undesirable way.

They may be the weakness that a virus needs to allow it to spread easily for instance, and so an update is released to patch the flaw. Though it may be a nuisance, installing the updates keeps your system safe from these kinds of problems.

Other software may release updates to increase functionality, and these updates genuinely are optional. But just like an operating system may have flaws that cause it to be vulnerable, so can other software on your computer.

Just recently a problem was found with the Adobe Flash player that made it vulnerable, and it had to be replaced with a newer, more secure version.

If you do not like the way that Windows systems have a habit of forcing you to reboot at the most inconvenient times, you can change your settings.

The best compromise between convenience and security is to allow your system to download all new updates, but to only notify you that they are there.

You are then given the chance to install them (and hence reboot) at a time that is convenient to you. Other system software should always notify you before updating, with your antivirus software being the main exception.

The motherboard is the most expensive computer component so be sure to treat and handle it with great care.

There are a few things you should do to ensure no motherboard damage occur as you prepare for the installation.

Be sure you have a clean, well lit,and level work place.Relax your mind and make this task both fun and educational.

You will need such tools as a phillips screwdriver, maybe some needle nose pliers and the manual that came with the board.

Most importantly you must remove any and all electrical static discharge from your body and clothes.Static electricity is a big problem and will quickly damage chips on your new board.

PREPARING FOR THE INSTALLATION

Preparing to work on your system envolves work area, lighting, and much more. One great danger is the chance of electrical static charge. But this will be no problem when this static buildup is properly removes.

Remove this danger by grounding yourself.Touch the metal case of the system unit or better yet, touch a door nobt in your work area to remove all electrical static charge.

Set down and carefully read your user’s manual and familiarize yourself with your new motherboard and its layout.Taking this time will boost your motherboard installation performance ike you never thought.

Study your new motherboard and keep the box it came in.Remove it from its protective wrap very carefully and without damaging the wrap. This is done just in case you need to return the motherboard.

You may need to return the motherboard if you made any mistakes in the purchase.Does the holes of your new motherboard line up with the holes in the case?

If there are any reason to return the board, you can simply put it back in the box to return.

Make the installation of your new motherboard fun and prepare well.Go to www.ultimatepcrepair.com and click on the photos page to familiarize yourself with all of the components in the cmputer.Follow these procedures as a guildline to install your new motherboard.

REMOVING THE OLD MOTHERBOARD

First Turn on your computer and access your cmos setup. This is done as the computer counts its memory.Press the combination of keys to access your bios.once inside your bios, select “Standard CMOS Setup” and write down all information about your computer’s drives.

Make sure you get the density of your floppy drives and the type of hard drive you have. Once you have this, turn off and unplug the computer and remove the case.

Second Study your system unit layout and you may want to take notes as your remove components and connections so that it will be easier when it comes to re-installing these components or connections.

Go about unplugging the wires that are connected to your old motherboard.Remember to label any and all connections to make re-installing them easier later.

Here’s where its very important to take awhile to study your old and new boards before disconnecting anything.

Third Carefully disconnect all drives and label the connectors if needed.Remove the drives and set them out of the way in a safe place.Place all small screws in a cup or something where them won’t get lost.

Carefully grasp the motherboard and give it a gentle tug upwards to be sure on connections, screws,or other devices are not interferring with the board’s removal.

Once you are certain there are no obstruction for the board to be removed, lift the board out of the system unit.Look to see if such components as the memory need to be installed onto the new motherboard.

INSTALLING THE NEW MOTHERBOARD

Installing the new motherboard is the reverse order of removing the old motherboard.Be sure you remove all electrical static discharge from you body and clothes.

Inspect the new board for damage and to be certain it is the right motherboard for your computer.

Carefully align the new motherboard with the system unit case and secure the board.Be careful not to secure the screws too much.Install the CPU chip if it is not installed on the board from the manufacturer.

Connect the large power connector from the power supply the the motherboard connector.Take care in not forcing the connector which may bend a pin.

Install RAM Memory into their sockets and check to be sure they are puched in completely.Re-connect all other devices such as controllers, expansion cards and finally the drives.

Check the sound, and videos cards for proper installation. Did you install your internal modem,or scanner adapter card? Connect the leads to the On-Off switch as well the hard drive indicator.

After all connections and components are installed, stop and go back to check again, and then, check some more.Replace the system unit cover once you know all is well.

Your system should now be ready to go.The motherboard may come with a cdrom containing device drivers and other software utilities that may be required to be installed.

Now try turning on the computer and if the POST completed without a hitch, you’re there. If you experience problems,go back and check all connections and devices.

Ita that easy to install or upgrade not only the motherboard, but nearly every other component in the system unit.Get busy understanding your computer now and save big on future PC repair costs.

As you have a wide variety of video card manufacturers nowadays, choosing a video card can make you go dizzy.

It is essential that you buy a video card that is compatible to your computer’s hardware configuration and the connections available for the video card, otherwise it will all go waste.

Finding the right Video Card

Usually computers have PCI, AGP and ISA type connections. AGP (Advanced Graphics Port) is currently the standard for the latest motherboards.

AGP is directly connected to the computer memory, so it can store 3-D elements in the computer’s memory rather than using the video memory.

The PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) is one of the most frequently used Buses in computers today.

You should also consider the amount of memory the video card you choose has. The higher this memory, the better is the resolution that you get. You should also consider aspects like video acceleration.

This is especially important if you want to use you computer for the latest gaming. The options you have are OpenGL, 3DFX GLIDE, or Direct3D Software API. You can use 3DFX GLIDE only on a card developed by 3DFX.

After you have researched various possibilities, you can go on and purchase your new video card. However you should be careful to buy it from a trustworthy vendor.

Installing your new Video Card

While installing the new video card, make sure that you have a site available for connecting it, or you can remove the previous card before connecting the new one.

If the PC already has on-board video, you should find out if any issue will arise if you install a new video card on it.

Next you should get the drivers for your video card ready. Make sure this is the latest one. If you don’t have it, you can very well download it from the internet. But see that it is free from malware.

Next you should uninstall the driver for your old video card. You can do this by going to the uninstall option through your Start Menu.

There is something called Device Manager where you can remove your current driver. Once you have done that, you can shut down the computer.

You should now take out the monitor cable from your video card and remove the card from its slot. You can then insert your new video card and screw it in position. Restart the system and give the exact location of the driver to your OS.

Your OS will automatically install the new drivers and request you for a system restart. Once you restart, you will find that the graphics settings have changed a bit.

All you have to do is adjust the resolution accordingly and your new video card is ready for action.

The most important part here is buying the right brand of Video card and getting it from a genuine seller who can give proper warranty.

If you have accomplished this, the other aspects like the installation, setup etc is just child’s play.
